I’m looking for a few NEO and NEO550 motors that have failed where the temperature sensor (or the hall sensors) are shorted to the windings.
If you test continuity between the windings and any sensor wire, a normal motor will show mega Ohms. Shorted motor could be 10k (sensor value) or less. Depends on how the shorting happens.
I’m especially interested in NEO550s; I haven’t seen ANY reports of the sensor short failure on them at all. My gut feel is that they have such fine wire in them that they go directly to crispy critter, or that the sensor is not buried. Dunno.
