I am a FIRST alumna and recent high school graduate. This year, I am studying Chinese in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. I am hoping to become involved in the FIRST community here but am having trouble determining who to contact. Does anyone have any suggestions?
According to the FIRST website’s team and event search page, there was one FLL team (30405 - Taiwan Party Animal) registered in 2016-17. They are not yet registered for 2017-18. If you’re looking for an FRC team, you may want to reach out to some teams in China or Australia for help starting Taiwan’s first team. Good luck!
Taiwan already has at least one FRC team because I saw them at Houston Champs. I believe the 2018 registration thread listed one new team forming as well. Given there are two (?) China regionals now, we’re probably going to see more and more popping up.
EDIT: 4253 in Taipei, 6191 in Taipei, 6083 in Chiayi are what I can find.

The FIRST website’s search has been very difficult for me to use! I can only get it to return teams with ‘Taiwan’ in their team name. I also can’t find a way to use the search engine to return a list of teams just in Taiwan. Taiwan teams do not show up with the teams from China and Taiwan is not one of the country options in the search bar. I was able to use the Blue Alliance to find FRC teams in Taiwan but none of them are near to me. I haven’t yet found a way to figure out what FLL or FTC teams are in my area.

You can always volunteer at the Shenzhen or Shanghai regionals, which are week 2 and 3 respectively. I went to Shenzhen last year, and will be doing both this year.
