LoRa wireless network for competition communication

I have been playing around with an idea to make a scouting app that can work at any event, not on wifi. LoRa could be used to communicate between devices and it operates on the 900MHz band, so it should not even begin to interfere with the wifi. Has anyone tried something like this before? Does the FMS detect unauthorized 2.4/5GHz signals or any radio signals? Rule E301 states “Teams may not set up their own 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax (2.4GHz or 5GHz) wireless communication (e.g. access points or ad-hoc networks) in the venue.” which to me seems like 900MHz should be fine. Thoughts?

Yes, 900MHz is outside the 802.11 bands, so it is legal at an FRC competition, provided your use doesn’t violate any other rules.
