Hi everyone, and happy kickoff from 8033! Crescendo is finally upon us.
Lovat is 8033’s custom scouting and strategy system. It’s collaborative, cloud-integrated, and runs on IOS, and Android. Lovat Dashboard is centered around accurate picklists as well as determining match strategy by the numbers.
If you followed last year, you may have gotten the chance to try data analysis on our scouting system, Lovat, at Houston or Chezy Champs in 2023. Based on the feedback we got from those beta testing campaigns, we’ve overhauled various aspects of the system for our release in 2024. Among other things this included making the server a central database with data collected by various teams throughout the entire season. Before we get into the details, here is a sneak peak of some of our early Lovat Collection graphics for Crescendo. If you have any suggestions, please let us know, and keep in mind this is is only a subset of the game screens will have on Lovat Collection.
Additionally, we’re looking for beta testers. If your team is competing week zero and looking for a scouting system, please contact us and we’ll get in touch.
And now, the details. We’ve always wanted Lovat to stand out in terms of data detail and quality, ease of use, and polish. After our system overhaul, we’re now proud to stand behind initial setup as one of Lovat’s greatest strengths. For 2024, you’ll be able to set up Lovat for your team within 10 minutes. There is no need to configure a server, write any code, or even contact people on our team (though we’re always here to help!) Just download from the App Store, add your team members, and start scouting. We’re really excited to scout with Lovat this season. We will post an announcement here when the app is live!
Hey Lovat team! In an effort to increase interoperability between scouting apps, we recently announced The Purple Standard (TPS), a unified, community-driven standard for FRC scouting data (see https://chiefdelphi.com/t/the-purple-standard-a-unified-and-community-driven-standard-for-frc-scouting-data/449394 and https://thepurplestandard.com), paving the way for collaborative scouting across apps (which benefits smaller teams and rookies). TPS is modular and completely customizable based on the data you want to collect in your scouting app. Would you be interested in integrating TPS into your app to benefit teams using Lovat and join the wider network of collaborative scouting data?

We are releasing early this week. Currently we are planning for Monday. There will be a CD post, email to the waitlist (join at https://lovat.app/ ) and instagram post when we release.

We will consider using it in the future, but it’s currently too late in the development cycle to change our set of metrics for this season.

We wanted to update those of you who aren’t already on our email list (join at https://lovat.app/ ), Lovat BETA will be releasing on Monday. Although it is a BETA the apps will be available in your app store and anyone will be able to download and use the system. We will have a seperate CD post and an email to everyone on the waitlist when we are releasing. We appreciate your patience with us as we work through our final known bugs, and finalize our training materials.

You should have received a couple of email updates in the past week (please let us know if you didn’t). However, as for the weeks before that we apologize for not sending out more consistent updates. We are swept up with getting our system ready. But, now that were are getting over that big push and we have a proper email service setup you can of course except an email when we release, as well as emails when new features are added and bugs are fixed.

During the registration to the team, app restarted itself and now it is stuck on “Another user is registering”. Is there a timeout for that or I just infinitely blocked my team.
I set your team registration process to complete. I will also confirm that your account is set to the scouting lead role. [email protected] is set to scouting lead on your team, they can promote you if that isn’t your email.
The schedule for the NE URI District event just went live after it was down all day long. It’s on frc.events and TBA, any idea if it will push into the app today?
