Hello again from 8033!
As we get closer to competition season, we’re super excited to announce that Lovat is just about ready for teams to start experimenting with it and familiarizing themselves with the platform and the workflow. Previously, we said that we planned to send out weekly updates to those on our contact list. We didn’t, and we’re sorry about that! Many more teams than we expected reached out with the desire to test Lovat during week 0, and so we changed around our priorities a bit. It’s been a super busy couple of weeks trying to get Lovat Dashboard and Lovat Collection out the door in time. That being said, please remember:
Lovat is in beta, and we are looking for bugs! if you find any, please report them at Contact | Lovat . We also do plan to start releasing weekly updates with hot fixes and other announcements now that we’re through the first major push. So don’t hesitate to get on the contact list. To make setting up the system, using it, and training scouters for competition easier, we created three videos tutorials.
Scouters can learn how to use Lova Collection here. Scouting leads can learn how to register their team on Lovat Dashboard here. Thank you! We really appreciate the community response and desire to use our system during week 0 with the expectation that it might not work quite right! We’ll do our best to work with teams and provide support if things go wrong, and we hope by week 1 everything should be working as expected.

For this first week android users on Lovat Collection and Lovat Dashboard will need to download the linked APK’s because we are still waiting for approval to the Google Play Store. For the 2024 season probably not, because this is mostly brand new code that we want to polish, and we are still testing things out and could even potentially change a lot (ex: re doing Lovat Dashboard in React). However, during the 2024 offseason we anticipate we will be in a more “stable” place after going through a season with the code and we will likely be ready to receive community contributions. Thank you! We don’t have any preset categories but we combine paths based off of if they have the same start. We don’t just combine based off of having the same path because our data during auto doesn’t record when teams fail/drop pieces. We then generate names based off of what happened in the path.
Looks awesome is there testing team code that a team can use to try out the collection app before registering their team? For the dashboard I used 9999. Is there a 6 digit test code for the collection app?
I don’t know if its a bug or if I accidentally misspelled the team email, but I’m not receiving the email verification for the team. The account email verification came through, but the team one refused too. If you could help, that would be great!
No, you cannot use Lovat Collection from an unverified team currently. However, if you think this is something you and others would benefit from we can add it as a future feature.
Absolutely, for some the email didn’t send so I went ahead and set your team registration process to completed. You should now be able to refresh Lovat Dashboard and tap the “I’ve verified my email” button. Let me know if that doesn’t work or you have more questions!
Super cool! One bug I’ve found though is that for certain matches, the data won’t upload, and it says “match does not exist”. I’ve gone back and double checked my match information to make sure that I didn’t input something incorrectly but I still get the error. Something I’m missing?
Update: Every qualifier I’ve scouted with the app has uploaded just fine, but elim matches don’t.

We appreciate the support over the past week, and thank you to everyone that has reported bugs! We just pushed an update for Lovat Dashboard to the app store. If you’re on Android update here: Download APK (we are still waiting to get Lovat Dashboard and Collection approved for the Google Play Store).
Below is the list of changes in the newest update:
Team tags: in any picklist or on a team look up page, choose metrics to display next to a team number. Set team tags by tapping the plus next to teams on picklists and/or the box in the upper right on a team look up page.
Edit your team email during registration if you mistyped it
I just tried to install this and downloaded the update you mentioned. However, when I try to run it on Android, I just get the little spinning icon like it’s trying to start but nothing ever comes up after I log in. Any suggestions on how to fix this?
