Low Fuel or not?

So… we have been working on tuning our shooter and feeder for quite some time. Our Plan A was to have it done by week 6 and hopefully shoot high.

Deadline to get it done is tomorrow at noon. By then, if we are not happy, we will switch mode to Plan B which is really a hopper style with very fast unloading capability into the low boiler.

By now looking at the score difference and with the understanding that low fuel will only be used if we can’t reach the 4th rotor, do you feel it could make any difference?

I see a lot of match decided by the pressure and usually by just a few points… I also see a lot of high fuel shooter shooting a lot but missing most…

Just like to see your ideas/comments!

1939’s low goal dump has made the difference in a match or two at Midwest. Take it as you will.

Our team has been really happy with our low goal. We’ve seen 399 also using theirs art Idaho pretty well. I would go for it.

399’s low dumper was the difference in our semifinal win in Colorado, by a margin of two points. Semis 2-2. Well worth it. I love low goal dumpers this year.

One of the matches in which we upset the #1 alliance at Knoxville was a 1-point match. In fact, it was a 1-ball match. It needed every single low goal ball we dumped and every single ball from our ally’s high goal shooter. We didn’t put much into our dumper: all it does is passively roll out its preloads before moving in auto, but we are very, very glad we did it. That said, don’t sacrifice climbing or gears or structural integrity, etc.

If you make it, definitely make your auto routines 10/10 plus mobility, in addition to whatever gear routines you’re doing.

If it’s not going to take away from improving more important systems (climber, gears, etc), I don’t see a reason not to. Having options in a match beats having no options in a match.
