His theme goes with everything, including LEGO robotics!
LRC 3178, the 6th year LEGO FRC team from Gorham ME, presents its official 2024 robot (just in time for Houston), Guile.
Features:
- Powered by 2 Ev3 bricks driving 8 total motors and 2 infrared sensors for the remote control
- A 2 Ev3 Large Motor tank drive, complete with belts on underside for maximum traction and mobility
- 360 degree turreted shooter w/ up to a 65 degree pivot
- Under-the-bumper tread intake w/ handoff into the shooter in the rear-lock position
- “Sonic Boom” 5:1 shooter powered by 2 Ev3 large motors
- Capable of scoring in both the Speaker and Amplifier, and has an estimated cycle time of n seconds
- Avg speed of 1-2 m/s, which is actually pretty fast for LEGOs
This took me approx. 1 month of planning and building, and is heavily inspired by the works of 2910, 6036, and 3255.
