Check it out in the iTunes App Store, download it for free to your iPod Touch or iPhone, and be prepared at the quickly approaching competition season!
Feedback and reviews are greatly appreciated, and it will be updated as needed with the team updates.
Thanks for posting. The app. looks pretty nice. It’s an interesting setup and looks like it will be pretty easy to use. One minor thing is that if the rule is too long (for example, <R08>) I can’t figure out how to scroll to view it all… it just flips the page to the additional resource.
Also, it might be nice to have some of the definitions as well found in section 8.2. Other than that, I think I will definitely use this as a helpful reference… better than just having all the pdf documents.
Hmmm…yeah sorry about making users update. I’m new to developing for the App store and I accidentally submitted it as requiring the latest software.
As far as scrolling problems, currently there is no way to scroll text. Most rules were formatted to just fit but several do overflow and a fix is being looked into. I hope its not an issue for now but thanks for all the feedback.
It’s fantastic having all the rules on our iPhones! Thanks so much for putting this application together. Of course, as a software guy I’m never satisfied so here are a few ideas for a new rev.
Is there any chance of adding a search function? That would really make this app better than paper.
How about Next and Previous buttons when looking at a rule?
It’s unexpected that touching the text of a rule flips you to the additional resource screen. I would expect to be scrolling, pinch zooming, etc in that area of the screen. Ideally the additional resource icon in the upper right would activate only when there actually ARE additional resources. It would be grayed out otherwise. You’d then get to them by touching that icon.
Anyway, in no way do these comments take away for the fantastic public service you performed by making this app available to the entire FIRST community FOR FREE. We are forever in your debt!
Impressive app! Functional and aesthetically pleasing. I think I’ll be using this to brush up on this year’s rules between classes before heading off to the regionals. Awesome job!
I second the motion for a search function, though. There are a lot of rules, and some I may want to look up without knowing the name.
Definitely an app that I’ll be using throughout the season. An update to add a search function would definitely be useful and maybe a way to make the text larger if necessary. Great work!
