MA FLL is seeking volunteers!

We’re looking for some enthusiastic FRC mentors or alumni to act as judges for our many qualifying events throughout the state of Massachusetts.

For the first time this year, MA is starting official qualifying for the Championship tournaments. Because of this, we have several events that will do formal judging for the first time.

FLL is a great, rewarding experience as many folks know and judging for the kids is really fun. We will provide training for people interested in becoming judges or judge advisors.

Contact me via email (colleen@wpi.edu) or here if you’d be interested in judging or playing a different volunteer role in any of our events. You can also contact us through our website (mafll.wpi.edu) and find directions to the event locations. Please also pass this message along to anyone you think might be interested in this volunteer opportunity. No experience (in FLL or FIRST in general) necessary!

Thanks!

List of MA FLL events:
* Blue Thunder II (Leominster) - November 8, 2008
* Blackstone Valley (Upton) - November 22, 2008
* Quincy - December 6, 2008
* MindStorm Mayhem (Shrewsbury) - December 6, 2008
* Agawam - December 6, 2008
* Dexter Qualifier (Brookline) - December 13, 2008
* Topsfield Qualifier - TBD
* Western MA Championship (WPI/Worcester) - December 20, 2008
* Eastern MA Championship (Brookline High School) - January 11, 2009

Considering brookline high school is one of the schools we mentor… I’m sure we can wrangle up some NUTRONs mentors to head to the eastern MA championship…

I know one Nutron that should be in Western MA! :smiley:

Providing the CT FLL State tournament isn’t that same weekend, I could swing up to MA for at least one (Agawam) & maybe some others to gladly help out. :slight_smile:

Not sure of the CT schedule yet.
I’ll have to keep a tab on this thread.

The CT State tournament is Sunday Dec 14th according to the CCSU website:

Thanks Merle! I should have known that was a good place to start looking. lol
I usually don’t get heavily involved in the FLL program until November. October is a crazy month for me! :ahh:

Looks like I may be free for that Agawam tournament in that case so far. w00t!

Thanks, for posting this, it made my day. I’d definitely be interested in volunteering, I sent you an e-mail about it.
