Greetings Teams,

It is another year for our annual offseason event, Madtown Throwdown, hosted by Team 1323 & 1671! We will be playing the 2024 FRC game this year - CRESCENDO with the 2024 Chezy Champ rules found here.

Registration Opens 2024-09-19T01:00:00Z

To maintain the spirit of the event, registration is allotted based on the order of form submission, and teams are allowed to register multiple robots! In an effort to ensure we have open spots for rookie and local teams, a small number of spots will be withheld for these teams with late registration, similar to official FRC event registration. We plan to send an email to teams no later than October 1 to confirm registration status. If your team has registered and learned it can no longer attend, please notify us as soon as possible.

The new VH-109 radio will be required for robots participating in this event. Radios can be purchased from FRC Radio – WestCoast Products.

Andrew,

Am I correct in understanding that the ability to bring multiple robots to the event is entirely dependent on if you’re one of the first to submit this form? Based on the wording here:

Correct. We want to maintain the culture of the event where teams are welcome to bring multiple robots but also want to maximize the number of unique teams at events. The form will allow teams to register up to 3 robots. We ask teams to keep other teams in mind when selecting the number of robots they wish to register.

With the weight limit of 135 lbs im assuming inspection will include a weigh-in, correct?

From the Chezy rules which MTTD is adopting

[CC2] No ROBOT INSPECTIONS. Teams are allowed an extra 4.5 pounds of weight (up to 130 lbs total) for repairs and modifications. Event organizers may conduct ad-hoc INSPECTIONS at any time; violations identified must be corrected before the ROBOT can participate in subsequent MATCHES. Teams may be retroactively DISQUALIFIED from past MATCHES for egregious violations that resulted in a competitive advantage.

Our students submitted an application when registration opened, when should we expect a confirmation email to come through?
Ideally including to my 2nd adult contact sneff841 email :wink:

We’ve had an unprecedented number of submissions. We are evaluating both facilities and the event schedule to determine if we are able to host any additional robots and also ensuring our local teams have had a chance to submit. We still plan to send notifications to teams no later than October 1. We will post an update on this thread once emails go out to the contacts shared on the form submission.

Hi,
Any updates on when we might receive a response on the form submissions? We’re excited and hope that we may join y’all, and would like to be able to start on planning and travel permissions if so.

Sorry for the delay. Emails have been sent out to all teams regarding their status. As mentioned above we had a record number of teams in record time. Our plan is to release the official team list once we have reached the payment deadline and all spots have been secured.

If you submitted a form and did not receive an email please let me know.
