Making Carrying/Loading Robots Onto and Off the Field Safer

Widening the gates is something I hadn’t thought about before, but seems like it could definitely solve some problems. Since this doesn’t directly impact gameplay, design, or strategy, I think it would be reasonable for FIRST to retrofit the field perimeters in stages, over the course of 2-3 seasons. And maybe they could make parts available to districts, though I have no idea what this would cost.

I see no reason why carts in general shouldn’t be allowed on field, except for the fact that some teams have overengineered carts that are cumbersome and may be difficult to maneuver or otherwise cause delays.

I will make a note to bring both of these ideas up to the HQ engineering team next time we meet.
