Hey everybody,
I was playing around with the provided iiko rig, and with my meager experience in 3dsMax, i was unable to make it move(as in walk around with footsteps). Is this function included with the iiko model or do we have to make it ourselves? How would we make it ourselves if we have to?
Thanks,

- Select one of the bones.
- Click the ‘Motion’ Tab.
- Expand the ‘Layer Manager’ rollout.
- Click and hold the ‘Add Layer’ button (next to the ‘X’ button).
- Point to the first option and release, a new ‘Animation Layer’ is added.
- Click the ‘Setup/Animation Mode Toggle’ button.
- Start creating keyframes for the spline helpers (like ‘CTRL_Head’).
Oh I was thinking there might be an easier way to do it like just coordinate the footsteps with the movement. But thanks for your help anyway!
with my mighty knowledge of 3ds max…
there is a way
As stated before…go into the motion panel…but this time…instead of adding the “abs” layer…add a cat motion layer…last one…
You should see a paw…click on that
click on CATMotion Presets
2Legs
and choose your preset…make sure to apply to existing layer
then go to sidepanel-globals
you can set some parameters…play around
walkmode
On Spot - self explanatory
Line - straight line
Node - create a dummy object and choose that…iiko will follow
Limb phases side panel
- pick ground to tell iiko to move up and down on uneven terrain
HOPE THAT HELPS!
There is a footstep mode you can do if you are using a biped but the iiko doesn’t use a biped.
