Does anyone know if MARC in Monroe, MI will be held this year? I’ve seen no notice of it anywhere.
I’ve heard through the grape vine that it happening, but that’s all hearsay. I’m also trying to find out more concrete details.
Update: I’ve been told details should be coming this weekend.
I’ve heard from Mike Moutain of Monroe HS that it will be Jun 23, 24 & 25. Details will be out soon.
John
I can confirm the above. MARC is happening but there has been limited communication internally about it. Steve Ketron and Kyle Christensen are no longer around to organize the event, and most of the MTR mentors who have been heavily involved in the past aren’t really around either, so things have been up in the air. On top of that, the team no longer maintains their website or social media outlets due to student turnover, so it’s hard to get any word out.
I will be attending a meeting this weekend to discuss the details of the event so I will try to say something about it after that, if nobody else does.
Here’s to hoping we can pull off a MARC just as good as every other year!
Just a quick note: If I’m not mistaken, there will be a website up soon containing all the details for this year’s MARC. I’ll post a link on this thread as soon as I hear any word when it’s up.

I am a member of team 240. Yes, Monroe High School will be holding the MARC on June 24th and 25th. TEMPEST 240 (jefferson) will be co-hosting. I don’t know the times though.
The MARC website has now posted some historical records, both photos and statistics. Just go to the about us tab on the site. But are records are not complete and we can use the help of teams who have MARC information. Do you have a photo or a story about the MARC to share? Missing pieces of data? Photos buried in the recesses of a hard drive or external memory device? Now is your chance to be heard and the MARC organizing committee wants to hear from you.
The website has a place for you to upload pictures and shared stories. Go to the Fan Gallery tab on the website. The Committee will review and post the submissions. Happy posting!!!
There are some spots yet for teams to register we are filling fast and looking forward to an exciting event. Also, back by popular demand is Friday Night Ice Cream social. We are working on some other possible social events as well. See you at the MARC.

This is the 10th anniversary of Michigan Advanced Robotics Competition to be held June 24th and 25th at Monroe Public High School.
We have some special plans for the event:
-
State Senator Dale Zorn will be present to give opening remarks.

There will be a special celebration of for plankowner teams. This is the 12 original teams from the first ever MARC event. These teams have overcome many hurdles during the past ten years. Their tenacity will be celebrated.
-
Friday night we are adding a video game competition as part of our social activities.
-
The silent auction will be going to Gilda’s Club. This is a cancer support group that assists patients. This charity is chosen by Marjie Jenkins and is meant to honor not only her support of the MARC but FRC as well. Donate some materials for the auction if you wish t-shirts, and FIRST memorabilia are welcome.
