We’ve been seeing a lot of old threads get bumped back up to the top lately. Is it possible to have vBulletin render threads over a certain age, or with no activity in a while differently? Maybe substitute red for orange in the colour scheme, just so people know that there’s something different about the thread that they’re replying to?
And I just noticed that in this CD Forum Support forum, there’s a big yellow box that appears when you reply. Is it practical to make a similar warning on old or unused threads?
Agreed, I’ve sometimes replied to a thread from, say, 2004 before I realized it. Anything with the last post over 6 months ago should offer some kind of warning. Ditto offering Reputation for old posts.
I do not think there is a standard VB function for this, but in the past Brandon has worked php magic…
I have a script to close the older threads in certain forums … I forgot to run that. I was reminded, and forgot again. Maybe this reminder will make its way to completion before I head to the LA regional this week …

EDIT: I did it … around 7000 older threads are now closed.
Why not put it in a cron job and have it run every week or so? That way the old memory doesn’t have to remember to run it.
