Mate connector between different parts in Onshape?

Does anyone know how to create a mate connector centered between two different parts in an assembly? Similar to a Width Mate in Solidworks.

Thanks in advance. I’m a Solidworks convert and sometimes it’s hard to get my head around this mate connector system.

Unfortunately there’s no direct way to do this in Onshape. Use offset(s) and call it a day.

Part Studio → mid plane → mate connector on plane

Good suggestion! You would also need to include a sketch with a point on that plane. The mid plane may not be an option with certain geometry (I’m thinking of identical parts in the assembly).

Does this work within an assembly? For example, how would you establish a mate connector that centers a gear between two parallel gearbox plates?
