first of all, congrats to team 42(PARTS) and 549 (devil dawgs) for an outstanding win!
i would personally like to congratulate 166(Chop Shop) for not arguing with the officials when they were flipped, they played hard and took the loss with gracious professionallism.
On to our robot, we had a really good opening match, scoring an immpressive 148qps. the next couple of matches we…er…sucked. we decided to remove our walker due to the fact that we had no power during the matches. we removed the walker, and then became “robust”. we went 4-5 and were picked by 121 (Rhode Warriors). in our first match we moved on, then the next match, we eliminated Merrimack, and moved on to the finals. again, we got eliminated, but another congrats to 42 and 549. attached is a picture of our bot.
I agree, the folks in Tyngsboro did a great job with this event. It is more work than you could ever guess to put one of these competitions together. The event moved along well. If only these folks could also be in charge of food sales at Verizon!!!
Team CHAOS 131 would like to thank a few teams also. First, Team 157, the Aztechs. In their first round, they went out and got the highest score of the day. They did it singlehandedly, we were their alliance and were unable to field a robot. Their score really helped us too. Nice show.
The WPI team, who took over for us in the elimination rounds. Always a strong team and great robot. We all look forward to Battlecry in two weeks.(Let’s see if their BattleCry victory streak continues).
Team 121, Two post season events, winners at one, finalists at the other.
And finally, we apologize to any team that dropped in the rankings due to our malfunctions during the day. When we worked, all was great, but we kept shearing off 3/8" pieces of metal from our drive system and that is never good.
As all of our robots continue to get heavy use, we will all face more problems with parts suffering from stress. The force of our robots smashing together is wearing out the robots at a rapid rate…now to go order 3 more drill transmissions for BattleCry!!!
Just wanted to give props to 42 and 549. Truth be known, as is usually the case I was pulling for my good friends 131. However 42 had some of the fiercest driving I’ve seen all season. BattleCry should be an awsome event…I predict the best comp of the season. Some awsome teams and best 2 out of 3…should be entertaining to say the least.
congrats to 42 & 549. Hopefully you made the list for battlecry, If not bash and riverrage await in the fall. Sorry to our partner in the finals 151. It was a great alliance and we had what it took, only we lost alot of powr due to a gearbox malfunction. Great competition overall! 9 qualifications for 21 teams is very impreessive. Food was great and not too expensive. Cant wait till mayhem 6 next year. keep up the good work.
hey ricksta, NO PROBLEM! it was very great to work with u guys, and problems happen with mechanical things. u guys really have what it takes to win alot of events. if u guys need anyhelp at riverrage or bash, let me know i will be glad to help fix ur bot with u!
Congratulations to 42 and 549. You played awesome defense that couldn’t be match.
I also want to say thanks to our partner Team 151 for helping us in the finals.
I also want to thank Team 140 for putting on Mayhem on the Merrimack for the 5th year, it is an awesome event.
The only thing that confused me is that the robots weren’t disabled for at least a few seconds after the buzzer. But I’m sure it was a technical thing that they couldn’t do anything about.
Yes it was a fun day(yes I was the annoying kid banging the drum with the huge multi-colored afro)… I can’t wait to go to WPI and make some more noise…
