Medievil Times in the Atlanta area on a MARTA line?

Just noticed these sponsored ads here on CD.

Anyone know if this is on, or close to a MARTA line?

It is not. It’s actually in Lawrenceville, about 45 minutes from the Georgia Dome, north-east along I-85.

At first I thought this was the Georgia Renaissance Festival, but upon investigation, it appears to be something different.

I haven’t seen the Medieval Times Georgia Castle, but from the website, it appears to be the same as other Medieval Times shows. Basicly you eat dinner while watching a show, primarily jousting. The Renaissance Festival, on the other hand, is far more “interactive”.

As long as the weather’s good, the Ren Faire is a lot of fun, and I recommend going if you can. I’ve gone on Sunday after FIRST for the last few years. (My sister actually worked there, so I was able to get a comp ticket, but she’s not there this year; I’m still planning on going.)

The Ren Faire is about 45 minutes south-west along I-85 in Fairburn, GA.

One of our Alumni is an Administrative Assistant there and promises FIRST Teams a very enjoyable evening.

Our Team 47 and Killer Bees 33 are going on Thursday night. It is about 35 Min. North East of the Dome.

If you contact them they have all the transportation details and can provide alternative transportation ideas. I have heard that they are giving special rates to FIRST Teams +15 or more.

The Atlanta Medieval Times Restaurant is located in Discover Mills Mall in Duluth. It is right off of I85 at Sugarloaf parkway (you can see it from the interstate). This mall also houses a Bass Pro Shop store, which is definitely worth a visit. I have not been to the Atlanta restaurant, but did enjoy the one in Orlando while chaperoning a marching band trip several years ago. It was an enjoyable and memorable experience.

theres one near burlington

Medieval Times is right in the mall and very easy to get to. We went last year and had a great time. The folks there treated teams to a great show and highlighted all the teams that attended.

<<off-topic>> there is a Medieval Times located near the Chesapeake Regional too.
Anyone guess what the state sport in Maryland is? (and it’s not football or baseball or lacrosse  )

Jousting?

The closest MARTA station to Medieval Times @ Discover Mills in Lawrenceville is probably the Doraville station, but that’s still pretty far. MARTA just doesn’t go in Gwinnett County…but you might be able to take a bus to Discover Mills from Doraville.

I am the Adminstrative Assistant for the Medieval Times Georgia, and also, an alumni of team 47. Here’s a little bit more info on Medieval Times for you guys, if interested. The MARTA station stops in Doraville, but if teams need transportation just contact us and we will try to see if we can work things out for you guys.

Make it a KNIGHT to Remember!

What teams are going to this event when in Atlanta??

Team 47 and 33 are going.

Come and join us… it will be fun.

AHHH!!! I LOVELOVELOVE Medieval Times!!
And Elgin…you always make fun of my spelling. Now I can officially make fun of yours…Medievil? Hahaha!
I love it.

It would be awesome to actually get enough teams to come and each team can duke it out with their knight…it would a competition too.

I blame the Sony corporation & my addiction to their game of the same name a few years back for original PSX for that error thank you very much. :stuck_out_tongue:

What night(s) are you going Mike?

Thursday night.

While I would defer to michellelee’s kind offer above to contact her about transportation, here is another option if you can’t work out something with her.

GRTA (see upper right area of System Map) offers bus service from some of the MARTA rail stations to Discover Mills . As stated earlier here, the MARTA rail does not go very close to Discover Mills.

Discover Mills is also home to Jillian’s which is where the Peachtree Regional holds the teams social on Friday night (March 14th this year).
