Mentors, you can stand up for trans kids at champs

This is certainly not the core of doing so, but if you’d like to have one of these as a small gesture of your support for Trans kids this week, come by my team’s pit, I have 99 more.

Thank you for bringing these and sharing them with other teams. I will bring a LGBT flag variant of our team pin for you guys. Any visual support helps, but remember that actions speak louder then words. Fill out your FIRST event surveys. Make petitions. Attend the inclusivity/LGBT conferences. Let us support all of our trans and LGBT team members.

Double check the app, but “Building an Eclusive Environment for LGBTQ+ Students” on Thursday from 11:30-11:50pm in room 310A looks promising. For anyone looking to show support or learn more about the subject.

@SergeantSpork5853, good to know your team isn’t at Champs to be subjected to my Agenda, based on your thumbs down. You represent your team here on CD, right?

All the stickers have been given out, folks. Thanks for supporting kids

If your detractors are sad they couldn’t get any I’m pretty certain we can get another run done for off seasons…

I’m not even at worlds and I want one! These ribbons are awesome.

These are great but FIRST really needs to pull champs out of Texas and relocate to somewhere all kids are safe.

Yeah this is really just a signal to the kids here that they aren’t entirely alone right now. It feels hollow but we are acting on it as best we can right in this moment

No, I get it and agree.

Are there any left?

Nope. Just a few posts up too. Assuming ribbons and stickers are the same thing.

We got some trans pins left in our pit! I made a ton to try and make sure they lasted, so come and get them so they don’t have to come home  6421, Pit B45

The fact someone actually reacted with a thumbs down to you merely stating the kids weren’t alone, very GP very class act!

Thank you for doing this and I know for sure a lot of the community is very happy that you’re showing support

These are really dope, all around.
I’ve never seen such a sophisticated and perfectly executed material swap multicolor and this is a fantastic place for it.

As a trans kid having spoke to other trans kids I know on our team, as well as others, it helps. We were pretty scared coming to Houston, and some of my experiences and stories Ive heard so far back that up. Its scary being trans in a state that hates you, coming from an environment where you already felt rocky about it. But the second I walk into the convention center, I’d say about 75% of people are wearing some sort of pride thing, whether it be a badge ribbon, a pride flag in the pit, or your pronouns on a button. For me, FIRST has been about the community, and walking into GRB, things like these truly do make a difference, making me feel less outcasted, and able to feel a part of the community as myself. Thank you.

Yeah. I was surprised by how inclusionary the environment is here, at least in the convention center. Except for the bathrooms. : (

P.S. did someone steal your them? What happened!

There supposedly are gender neutral bathrooms somewhere, but idk where they are, and I am too tired to find them.
And they took my them at TSA, said it was over 3 oz :pensive:
