Is there a proper way to merge objects? I apparently lack the knowledge. Is it surface specific or something like that? I hate leaving everything floating, not connected.
Are you trying to connect parts together so they are not able to be moved around in the workspace?
First thing is to make sure your first object (part) is grounded.
Then use the constrain function to connect the parts to that grounded object.
You will then need to use the constrain command on the new parts in several planes to keep them from moving as you drag new parts around.
Hope that is what you are asking…
If not, update your post with a bit more information on what you are trying to accomplish…
I suppose you could just ground every part to get by, but that isn’t how you should be doing it.
