Good luck everyone!

There are still teams missing since the divisions don’t all have 40 teams. Have to keep waiting.

Ford division is pretty packed.

There are 4 teams missing in total, one from each division. I don’t think that they are going to re-run the divisions when new teams are added; instead just place them in the final spots.

There are 4 teams here:

Maybe FIRST is waiting for something for these teams?

Anyway, on first glance these look darn close together.
Sorting by an average of OPR and EPR,
Consumers 778
DTE is 782
Dow is 786
Ford is 806

But, just looking at the top handlful of robots,
Consumers - 217 has 92
DTE, 3370 is at 87.5
Ford, 4970 is 50.5, next is 74 at 132.
Dow’s first 5 robots are all 94 or sub 94.

So right now, Dow looks to be stacked tougher than the others in the top 5 robots.

But no matter how you slice it, the numbers all point toward a very even distribution.

What exactly are those OPR/EPR numbers for each of those fields?

Sorry - already deleted the sheets. Download the 2834 scouting xls from CDMedia. It has all the info.

Now if only they would release the divisions for Houston…

+1

Are they filling all divisions with 40 teams… ???

Was told today that every team is accounted for and only 2 teams declined the invite… we are #2 on the list… just wondering if we should keep everything packed just in case… :ahh: :ahh: :ahh: :ahh:

One final note on the stats discussion going on with OPR and EPR:

EPR is a composite score, equal to:

PR(n) = OPR * n + (WMPR + avg_score / 3) * (1 - n)

where n = 0.5
WMPR is a separate stat to OPR which considers both alliance partners and opponents, and is a measurement of the contribution of a robot to the winning margin.

My team is one of the four on the list we are waiting on the school to issue a po to first.

Those are based on their best event, not their average. I have the actual season OPR’s and will post them soon.

The division splitting algorithm looks pretty good, but Ford looks a tick stronger than the others!

I agree that they are very even and did a great job. The split of veteran/rookies is also good. I would say that DOW looks by far the strongest, but they are all deep so the matches are gonna be great!

Something that isn’t very even is peninsula distribution. DTE has 5 UP teams while Ford only has 1 (not that I’m complaining, I’m glad to be with the two local rookies to be close for help).

I don’t think OPR average is better than best event. Not that best event OPR is perfect, (I personally prefer most recent event OPR), but average doesn’t account for many teams who made mid-season improvements.
