Michigan Tech is Joining the RI3D Community!

Hey everyone,

We are Copper Country Robotics at Michigan Tech, a FIRST Alumni organization dedicated to assisting teams around Michigan’s better half (the UP)! We frequently volunteer throughout the UP with FRC mentoring, FTC mentoring, and FRC volunteering at Escanaba, MI, LSSU, MI, and Michigan State Champs! You can find a full description of our organization and what we do to support the FIRST community at https://ccr.students.mtu.edu

This year, we are super excited to announce that Michigan Tech is joining the Robot in 3 Days community for this year’s FIRST Robotics Competition game, REEFSCAPE! Our robot and program, sponsored by the College of Computing and College of Engineering at Michigan Tech, will be built and tested by our talented FIRST Alumni in the freezing winter.

We will also be streaming live from our part of the Keweenaw! We will be available on Twitch and YouTube. Closer to the date, you can also find our stream links with more information located at https://ccr.students.mtu.edu/ri3d. You can also keep up to date with our progress on Instagram at @mtu_ri3d

We are super excited to be a part of this wonderful community, and are excited to show you what Michigan Tech students can accomplish :sunglasses:. Let us know if you have any questions. Thanks for hearing us out!

Happy to hear, Ri3D is always so cool to watch and get inspiration from.

Did you mean to say REEFSCAPE? SUBMERGED is the FLL game.

You’re right  I’ve spent way too much time preparing for the FLL competition up here, that SUBMERGED has just been burned into my mind.

Thanks!

As an MTU alum and FRC/FTC mentor, this makes me so happy! Ri3D has become such an awesome part of the kickoff week experience, and I’m proud of MTU for joining in.

Great! I always wondered why the MTU robotics org never did RI3D. Always liked MTU as my father is an Alum and I would have too had another college not been more convenient. Cannot wait to see the progress!
