Just wanted to throw this out in case it helps someone. They’re on a really really good sale right now:
Showing out of stock for me, but yeah that is stout.
Power move when you buy from Home Depot for a team: seek out a discounted gift card first. It’s easy to shave a good 5-10% off the tab for Home Depot, slightly more at Lowe’s.
Well darn. It was in stock 30 minutes ago.
It’s magic. Worth every penny. Worth introducing a new battery standard (m12) into our shop for it
That is a great price. We picked one up a couple years ago because the students we had that year were really struggling to operate the hand rivet gun. When former students stop by they get jealous that the new kids get all the fancy toys lol.
Glad to hear. I picked one up when they were on sale for my new team and was worried about the hassle of having 2 battery types.
we have 2 of these and have been a great help to speeding up the process. Prior to that we were using a pneumatic version.
We also picked up the extension, which is nice in some of the tight spots, when needed.
Slightly different version, but bigger battery and same price:
I think the price originally was $149 when @Tom_Line posted it, which is a really great deal. Looks like the price went up now.
I’m not sure I’d want to build anything without my trusty Milwaukee riveter these days, it’s really that good.
I looked last night for one after I saw and could night find anything near $149 so that would be a really really really great deal. Everything else was 300+ it seemed. And that was under all electric rivet guns… The whole category not just the m12 deals
What? A tool option I didn’t have?
MUST… PURCHASE… NOW…
Whew - all better. Thanks for posting that up.
This is probably still a pretty ok deal if you happen to have other m12 tools that can make better use of that big m12 battery, it would take all season to go through a 5AH battery with the riveter.
Not knock your socks off good, but not a bad deal by any means.
Other tools that seem to be pretty well regarded and can make use of the big battery :
One of the rachets
The right angle impact
The vacuum
Small circular saw
One of the larger lights (especially in elims if your venue is normally dark where they move pits)
As an aside with lighting : throw 2-3 cheapish headlamps in the toolbox that gets moved to the elims pit. Absolutely worth it.
Home Depot option seems pricey.
I got our team this rivet gun off amazon which has been working great for several years. My students hated riveting before buying this, and now they love it.

It’s baaaaack… for a day, on woot.com.
Milwaukee 2550-20
Tool only, no battery in this promo. Just fyi for any1
The milwaukee right angle drill uses the m12 ecosystem as well - I picked up one on cyber monday for $60.
When originally posted it was $149 and sold out quick. I think that was for tool only though and its $249 as of this post but with a battery. After bringing in my m12 drill and impact for the kids to use they fell in love with how much smaller and lighter that stuff was over the 20v dewalt drills we normally use.
Okay? The link I provided comes with 2 batteries and charger. Just trying to understand what makes the Milwaukee one better.
FYI this is on WOOT right now…

Does anyone have experience (good or bad) with the DeWalt version? I know everyone loves the Milwaukee riveter but we’d prefer not to add another battery type to the shop.
