Milwaukee Mentor Open Robotics Competition (MMORC)

The first ever Milwaukee Mentor Open Robotics Competition will be held on Saturday, October 12th, a the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) Kern Center Fieldhouse. MMORC is a competition that reverses the roles - students have designed a game and will run the competition while the mentors get to build robots and “strut their stuff” in a fun event.

Duck n Cover information can be found at: http://www.team1675.net/mmorc/

While Vex robots are probably the most accessible to the community, ANY robotic system is welcome (Tetrix, Arduino, tiny FRC, anything else). The only rules are starting size (18" cube), battery limitations (up to two 7.2V batteries), and motor quantity (10 motors, but of any type).

This event is the evolution of what was previously the Milwaukee Mentor Vex Competition. There have been requests to give the mentors more freedom to use what they have and may be more familiar with, rather than just Vex, so this is an experiment to see what results.

Hope to see some of you there!

Kevin

Sounds super cool Kevin. I don’t know how easy it will be to find a mentor with skating skillz :).

Do you have any teams that are doing Toss Up this year? Our high school event is on Sunday November 3rd.

We are prepared for amazing levels of embarrassment. We hope that some teams from 2062 will join us? Wish you guys were coming to RoboFest next week as well.

We should have some teams there for Toss Up. We’re just getting started but there is definitely interest. Keep an eye our for our registration.

Kevin, will you be hosting another Milwaukee Mentor Open Robotics Competition this year? I wanted to compete last year but school got in the way. This year I have much more time and I would like to attend!

Thanks!
Evan

The Milwaukee Mentor Open Robotics Competition WILL return in 2014. Stay tuned for details to be released soon…
