Every year we do a ‘miniFIRST’ competition to get the team introduced to the FIRST process and working together and all that great stuff.
Typically we’ve using RC cars, but this year we are going to be using the EDUrobots kits and some people on the team developed a really cool game for them. We just had the kickoff this afternoon.
The link to the site is http://www.massacademy.org/minifirst/ I just thought some people might be interested in an idea for incorporating the EDUrobots with team building and orientation exercises.
Yeah, we at RoboDox (SCRRF members) are considering buying a handful of motherboards and a some more parts kits, plus speed controllers, relays, and raw materials, so the students can make practice robots for an invented game. We probably wouldn’t want to use the Kits as-is. For one thing, you might run at 12V so you can use standard motors ( to practice gear-shifting, for example), and pneumatic valves.

We have a kit that a parent donated last year, and accumulated stuff.
BTW, I don’t have you guys on my contacts list for SCRRF. Who from your team is receiving SCRRF emails?
