Minute Maid park

Enjoyed my entire time at Houston until they moved to Minute Maid park. What a disaster. They better fix this before next year took over two hours standing in line to get in I saw at least one person faint from the heat.

Streamlining the security process would help, along with opening more entries to accommodate the thousands of people trying to enter.

Astros security isn’t used to this many people coming to the stadium.

Nice meme fam. Top kek.

**It’s because all you people brought bags when first specifically said DONT BRING BAGSSSSSSSSSS.

RRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Where did they say to not bring bags?

All over the event, on the field screens, and on the streams. For days.

I (along with my team) heard or saw nothing relating to that. I’m sure we aren’t the only ones who didn’t see.

WAS IN ALL YOUR REGISTRATION INFO WHEN YOU SIGNED UP TI GET YOUR BADGES

we don’t have time for rationality here

Yes. Great idea FIRST. Let’s ban bags on the last day of a competition when you close one venue and have everyone move to the other.

Good idea. I’ve never seen bags at an FRC event.

The NRG stadium is a far better venue for Einstein.

Or maybe the entire event.

What did you do from 9am to 4?

I have to imagine, like at most events, people left their bags in the pits/in the stands with someone they trusted.

Supposed to leave them in your hotel or bus

Regardless of whether it was communicated, no bags is an unreasonable request.

Many/most women are effectively obligated to carry purses, because of the whole no functional pockets in women’s pants thing. My observation has been at the typical event, over half the people are carrying a bag for their personal event survival gear and/or valuables.

Even with the (awful) clear plastic bag rule at NFL stadiums, they accept that people need to be able to carry a bag of some kind for a three hour event.

People also walk around with their bags too for most of an event. Also where are teams supposed to leave their laptop bags?

I’m sorry but this is a robotics event. I can see why the policy would exist but this is not a sporting event. Its a robotics trip with participants at events for 12+ hours a day.

A lot of people’s hotel is a solid 30 minutes from the venue, and particularly with those lines, nobody really would’ve had time to go and unload into the bus.

Teams just need to plan better, Saturday is a very short day for teams that didn’t make playoffs.
