My team, 4110, has found out quite late in the build season that the D-link router we received in the kit of parts is not legal. We were provided with the Rev A router, and it’s assumed that we are too late to have them replace it.
AndyMark is out of stock for the legal rev B model, and we can not find any supply of it.
Does anyone know a place for us to order the rev B model D-link from? And, if not, what would our next best plan of action be?
I would contact FIRST HQ or your regional director about this. I realize that it’s passed the original KOP replacement deadline, but this may be a unique case in that you did receive the part, but it was not a legal model. The differences in the routers are small, it’s easy to miss.
You could try shooting off an email to [email protected], they may also be able to provide some advice.
Sorry, the Amazon didn’t specify which revision it was, so I assumed it’d be the most recent. Perhaps if it doesn’t come back in stock at AndyMark at time, you could order it after build season and include it in your 30lbs of replacement parts (R21).
Actually it looks to be the RvB version, the supplier just used a mix of pictures of the RvA and RvB models. The RvA has a metal brace where your Ethernet cables attach where as the RvB is all plastic. I also think the RvA model does not have the 5GHz mode. Hope this helps and good luck to you!
