MK4i Kraken Convserion-What are these spacers for?

Hello! We’re working on converting our MK4is to use kraken’s, and we’ve purchased SDS’s conversion kit. For the life of us we cannot figure out what these C shaped spacers are used for. Can anyone give some insight?

Pictures and descriptions are on the SDS site here. As noted in your link, they go between the screw spacers and motors. They keep the threads on the screws from bottoming out in the motor.
