Better late than never. Here is the 2024 thread for posting all of your MKCAD requests and questions. We’re slowly growing the MKCAD team, so hopefully we’ll be able to resolve issues or add features quickly.
It would be nice to see a configurable model of the KOP chassis (AM14U). I’m sure newer teams who haven’t gotten into swerve yet would appreciate it.
I believe this already exists, though it might need some updates.
The roboRIO 2.0 has been added (in Electronics
). The model from AM has some faulty topology, so sorry if that ripples down to your models.
Very very minor complaint, but there is no 18t #35 chain 1/2 Hex sprocket available. WCP has one (WCP-0979).
We should be able to add this, but you can also make this geometry with the custom sprocket configurator. You may just need to adjust the hub width to actual.
Whenever I import from the MKCad plugin I need to update the reference to the newest version. Is there a plugin update I need to install?
No this is on the MKCAD end. We rage specific versions for availability in the app. If we make changes in the doc, but don’t update the app, you’ll still get the version with an option to update.
It is worth noting that, in addition to Ty’s response, that a part can be updated doesn’t necessarily mean anything changed. When a version is cut on any MKCAD doc, all the parts in it also get versioned even if we didn’t touch them at all.
Just to explain why this is, each type of item coming from MKCAD come from a singular document (Sprockets, bearings, wheels, etc.). Any time anything is added to or modified in these documents all other parts and assemblies within are also versioned.
I wish there was a way to version individual part studios or assemblies in Onshape, like a commit in code version control. It also does not make sense to have individual documents as it would be significantly more difficult to manage all of the components.
Can the Kraken spline bore be added as an option to the pulley generators? Right now it only has Vexpro Spline aka Falcon which is slightly different.
The VRM full render would be nice to have back for electronics cadding
Fixed
I’m having trouble with a portion of the configurable HTD pulley.
I’m unable to generate a 20DP gear insert cutout. I played with a bunch of variable permutations to test if there’s some dimensional oddity preventing it from generating, but had no luck. Is this user error, or is there something wrong?
Thanks for MKCAD!
Would it be possible to add the falcon v3 to the max planetary and versaplanetary configurations? I think the falcon v2 is the only falcon variant available.
I might be missing it, but not seeing 3" Andymark Stealth wheels, am I missing it?
Dave
This has been resolved. Looks like someone rolled back before the gear and Boolean feature and someone else created a new version and updated the document.
AM 3" stealth wheels in 1/2" (am-4716) and 3/8" (am-4718) Hex bores have now been added. Weights for all the AM stealth wheels should also be closer now, though not perfect. I don’t believe they previously had materials assigned.
I can’t see the 12t x 9mm wide aluminum pulley (HTD 5mm, 8mm key bore) or is there a chance that the name is different.
Would it be possible to add the new VersaFrame stock sold by VEX? The VersaFrame stock they now sell (at least for aluminum stock) has different thickness options and the score line has been removed.
It would also be super nice to be able to configure motors on the SDS MK4i to be mounted flipped, with the shaft facing down.
