Here is a up to date map (as far as I know) of all FRC teams in MN. They are color coded with their known HAC ( Hubs, Alliance, Coalition ) affiliation. If your team is in a region where there is a HAC I would suggest looking into it, as it is a great way to learn and network with other teams.
Yes they are down the road a bit. I’ll chat with my other mentors they may have already got some details at 10,000 lakes. If not we will see then ay the Gitchi Gummi.
HAC leaders in Minnesota, there is a Spreadsheet that has been put together of the HAC’s and the teams that make up the group (along with other items of note such as group norms, events they host, etc). If you are interested in getting your teams/organizations information into this, please PM me.
Essentially this spreadsheet was started after it became more difficult to reach out to other teams due to the privacy protocols FIRST put into place (which I am in favor). This information is only shared with MN FIRST and the HAC leaders (however they are appointed/elected).
I know I’m missing some… Contact the Firebears, Tom’s the one that handle’s all the contacts and scheduling stuff, he would have the most accurate list.
What I can remember:
2846
2052
2177 (I know, the team isn’t really located very close, but several mentors and some students live in the area, our primary sponsor is in the area, and we have a long history with 2846)
2825
3407
Edit to add:
Also, there used to be a hub run by 2220 that we used to be part of. Not sure of its status anymore, it was a very loose hub, with stuff that would pop up occasionally.
For those interested in a historical view of the hubs, this doc was used at the first ever “Hub meeting”, run by Renee Becker-Blau (who has since moved when her husband got a job at AndyMark… MN’s loss was Indiana’s gain!) and hosted by The Robettes back in 2013. It introduced the concept of hubs to a large number of teams and got a some teams signed up to be “hub leaders” to get the ball rolling. Since then, it’s all grown and morphed organically, with no top-level organization of any kind, which was the idea from the beginning. Start with some organization to get things going, and assume that teams would reorganize as needed. Anyways, this may give you some more to go on in tracking down hubs that we may not be aware of
