Most statistacally average teams to qualify for champs

I took the average EPA of teams that were listed as attending champs from this Statbotics page, and the average EPA came out to be 41.78. With that rounded up to 41.8 the most statistically average teams to attend Champs are 2714 :hotsprings: BBQ :hotsprings: and 5724 Spartan Robotics.

If we want to use the median EPA as our metric, then the following teams will be considered the most average with a medium EPA of 44: 3534, 5654, 6146, 9105, 4329, 9084, 1038, 2582, 3061, 4131, 1425, 1481, 7153, 4561, 5135, 6413.

This made my teams night, thanks!

Can someone make us a “most average team” icon, maybe not frctop25 but still statistically significant

The last red bar on the chart linked above is 3620. They are near the middle of the pack among Michigan teams that will be at CMP this year. So, yeah, kinda average, for FiM.

is it too late to change your team avatar to resemble a toyota camry?

I believe Daly looks to be the most average division, and according to this chart 2412 is exactly in the middle by EPA:

In other words, our team is mid.

This reminds me of “The Meanest Skier award.”

Certain ski conferences for economics and finance will have ski races, awarding the fastest, 2nd best, etc… However – in addition to a bunch of other awards – the most average time will earn that skier the “Meanest Skier” award.

So arguably, these are the ‘meanest’ teams to qualify for champs.

(For anyone not getting the joke: the arithmetic mean is the same as the average.)

My team named a Fight Night robot Mean Joe a few years ago. Hatch panel converted to buzz saw.

“Your team is so average.”
