Mother Nature does not care that FIRST teams are on a tight schedule. We have lost many days and I suspect we will lose most of this week.
Please remember to be safe this week. Use your time off to develop scouting sheets, to run game scenarios and to work on awards. This is part of the challenge, don’t take unnecessary risks.
It may sound cliched, but there have been instances where not being able to get into our shop due to weather has actually been helpful to our team! It’s an opportunity to re-think the choices you have made, and sometimes being forced to put down the tools leads to better design decisions (at least it has for our team!)
To us this is a blessing! The team doesnt have to go to school and I dont have to go to work so we get at least 24 hrs straight to get as much done as we can. Bring on the white stuff!
I’m not exactly excited about losing a meeting to 30 inches of snow - especially because I personally only get two meetings a week and this cuts one of them
We were sent home early tonight and the rest of the week looks bad. Loosing week four is gonna suck big time. I’m so glad we are not doing a week one regional this year,
Last year, we didn’t lose too much to the snow, as the major snowstorms of the year dumped between Christmas and the week before kickoff.
This year, we haven’t been so lucky. We’ve had about a week of snow days since build season has begun, and we’re getting “Snowpocalypse” tomorrow that will wipe out even more days of the build season.
That being said, I’m glad the snow is coming now instead of week 6.
Hey, a day or two off would be great for me. Course, living across from KU I have the benefit of having a full machine shop within walking distance, sounds like I should take the parts that need machining home with me tonight.
I second the comment about BB costing us more time than snow since we will only lose (at most) 4 days to this snow storm (Wed, Thur, Fri, Sat).
Right as I open this thread, my sister yells down that school is canceled.
We didn’t get much done yesterday, so clearign our minds will be helpful.
Southern MN has 3 ft on the ground in most places (screw driveway, i’ve got a freaking canyon!) but they were all on weekends, save for today’s. The upshot of this is no snow predicted this weekend for our area. Pizza build, woo!
