Is there a total limit of motors to use in the robot? I remember seeing last year that the limit was 18, or something like that, but in that manual I didn’t see anything.
You can have 16 motor controllers on a PDP and 20 on a PDH. Some motors can be driven as 2 per controller. These are in R505. The theoretical maximum therefore is 40.

also remember the new for this year rule (aka HighTide rule) that you can only have 4 drive motors on your drivetrain (this does not include stuff like steering motors for swerve)
