Mounting AMT103 Encoder to the KOP drivebase

I am with a new team and we have a really good programmer who wants to use encoders this year on the drive train. As I have never used them before, I cannot be of much help. Or biggest struggle right now is trying to figure out how we mount them to the kop drive base. Is there instructions or there for how to do this?

What motors are you using? Falcons and Neos have encoders built in

If you’re not using those for your drivetrain, it matters what gearbox you’re using. An andymark Toughbox mini has a 1/4” putout shaft/magnet you can use. The AMT encoders should just mount directly to the gearbox with some very small self tapping screws or glue

We are using the full sim motor that comes with the kop

If you use the KOP chassis, then you should be able to mount the encoder on the back of the andymark gearbox right next to the motor

Here’s a link to another thread made last week on the same topic.
