I duno if anyone has said anything, im on vacation here in concord, but, on the news in the hotel during breakfast they were talking about some exhibit on robots in a museum in mass, they were showing various shots of kids talking about the robots and in the corner i saw a FIRST robot. It looked like one from 2000, so who’s robot is it?
Andrew
see this thread. i think it’s what you’re talking abut
Hello,
I was at the Boston Museum of Science, which is most likely the Museum that people are talking about. Nashua HS Team 151’s robot and the Husky Brigade’s robot are on display there. If you keep an eye on the Misc. Gallery over the next few days I uploaded some pictures.

Boston Museum of Science
FYI…the Omni Theater show on caves right now is very cool.
Do you know who to contact if a team wants to display their robot or do a presentation.
Thanks
Hi All,
You may not be aware that there is a FIRST museum at the FIRST headquarters in New Hampshire. Several robots are on display there and it is open to the public.
Al
Dag nab it all to heck!!!
You guys beat me to the story!!!
I was up at The Museum of Science on Fri. 6-29 and saw the bots there. Got pics too!!! Might post some by the end of the week, depending on how they come out! Thought I would be the first one to break the story but I guess not, Oh well.
BTW, if the case that is holding the 121 Huskie robot looks familiar-(See pic in Gallery under Misc.)- it is the same extruded alluminum that our team used on the cross braces on this years bot.
One more thing. The displays were nice but they should have put a picture of the playing field and components in there. From just reading the plaques in the cases I would not understand the game if I was not involved with FIRST.
nashua 151 is bringing down a bridge and two goals to the musuem soon to add to the exhibit, so part of the feild will be there to make people understand better!
Hey guys!
Last year one of the teams in Virginia )122 I think) had their robot and a playing field on display at our state fair. It was the first I ever heard about FIRST and reeally got me interested. It’s probly a great way to get the word out and get money through donations and sponsorers.
C~ya,
Carolyn
Yep Carolyn, that was us. First time I ever showed off the bot in public. Had a great time up there with Jeff and the gang. Only managed to break the robot once! VCU had thiers up there too, along with another teams, but I never saw either of them running.

Team #368 (that’s us) and team #359’s robots held public demonstrations at Bishop Museum in Hawaii on June 24, part of it was because they had an exhibition of robotic animals (something called the robot zoo). Too bad the other Hawaii team T#636 couldn’t make it.
Where were you guys?
You did a demo at the “robot zoo?” That exhibit is at the VA Air and Space Museum now, and our robot was the star of the show when the exhibit opened. Their must be too different exhibits, now that I think of it. I’m pretty sure that we had ours here on June 24th, but even so, its still kinda neat.
~Tom~ The guy who’s done more demos than he can remember.
Tom, I am sure that we are talking about two completely different exhibits, because our “robot zoo” is still in display. Well anyhow, here is the link to Bishop Museum’s robot zoo check it out… http://www.bishopmuseum.org/bishop/exhibits/current_exhibits.html
It really sounds like they have at least two identical exhibits going on. I checked the link and it described everything that they have in the exhibit in my town! Same animals, same ideas, same everything, only can’t be the same exhibit. Duplicates is the only thing that comes to mind.
~Tom~ who was kind of disappointed because the exhibit is much more about animals than about robots
When I was there there were only three people there. None of them was you. That would have been really strange if you were there, especially after this past season’s events.
C~ya,
Carolyn
Hmmm… if you went and there were three people there that weren’t me, you probably went during the only shift that I wasn’t. I was there Friday evening and then Saturday afternoon. The girls were running the show Saturday morning when the Daily Press was there (and apparently you were too). You should’ve seen some of the stuff we were doing. Pulled off a wheelie for about 25 feet, drove the robot with the control system on that walkway 30 ft. overhead, etc. etc. etc. It was a whole lot of fun, even if Jeff did get a little upset at Stephen and I for driving under the airplanes.
~Tom~
For some reason I don’t think Stephen was doing much of anything. I think it was Tom instigating and getting Stephen to be a part of what you were doing.
C~ya,
Carolyn
You’d be surprised about our good friend Stephen. He’s all excited about doing a wheelie in front of Dean at the DC thing we’re going to. Jeff has yet to comment on it yet.
~Tom~
I think Stephen would do anything in front of Dean. He seems to be Stephen’s idol. Jeff won’t comment about the wheelie, he’ll be hoping that you do one but he has to play the adult. Have fun up there.

Carolyn
