Music at regionals

I thought that the choice of music at the regionals was tasteful and, overall, appropriately diverse. I would have chosen differently, but we each have our individual preferences. All I’m saying is that the music was surprisingly tolerable!

Yes, it was actually decent for the most part. They even played “Jungle Love” by Morris Day and the Time

Hrm, I wonder how suprised Andy B was that I knew the lyrics and the dance moves to that song

I agree.
I enjoyed making a fool of myself to Saturday Night Fever

I heard it got a bit repetitive, though. It always does, unfortunately. At least it’s decent music, though.

Everything I heard at BAE, was great, I heard everything From the Orginal “American Woman” to T.A.T.U, and I only heard Sandstorm once!!!

Any metal?

I was surprised at what a good musical selection they had. Although it did a little bad towards the end when they played that “Too Sexy” song. Ick.

DJ,

Step aside.

Back in the day, Morris Day and the Time were the thing. I am definitely a product of the 80’s, and those were definitely the glory days.

At St. Louis, I was pleasantly suprised that they played “You Got Another Thing Comin” by Judas Priest. Now, if they only would play more Van Halen and Accept.

If every FIRST DJ could just get David Kelly’s playlist, then all would be right with the world.

Andy B.

I agree. But I was so excited to be there I even danced to Avril Lavigne so I guess I didn’t really care. =P

They played some Metallica and Pantera at Sacramento, but you guys got Judas Priest!? I feel so cheated! Actually, sadly, I didn’t get to listen to too much of the music, specifically. I had to keep on my toes, trying to pay attention as best I could, for the entire competition. Queueing is fun.

Heh, I love that 80’s Power Rock / Metal, and even though I don’t know the dance moves, like DJ, I can still sing along to Jungle Love with the best of them!

This year’s playlist at IRI is going to be even better!!

I’d have the say the music at the VCU regional was awesome. It wasn’t cheesy or nerdy. A touch of techno here and there, some old but good songs, some pop songs. But always setting the right mood. Bravo!

If they had some 80’s rock/metal going they should have some Eddie Van Halen, Steve Vai, and Dokken playing at the competitions.

Hopefully they will be playing some of these at UCF:)

9 more days…

You guys got pantera in sacramento…thats awsome!
What song?

Overall i think that first leans to the happy go lucky music that people in the stands will like, top 40 radio stuff and golden oldies as well as adult contempory, remeber that many of our adult mentors wouldn’t like alot of the music many of us would request…

I was missing some techno favorites, like Daft Punk - Harder Better Faster Stronger.
But i survived…

They started repeating alot in cleveland however which wasn’t cool and they went through the same loop atleast 4 times on thursday gag

The music at the Cleveland regional was… quite different from what I had been expecting. Namely, very very little techno… what do they think we are, popular people?

I’m a loser! I want loser music!!!

The only innapropriate song (there’s always one…) I heard (via webcast) was “The Humpty Dance.” Other than that it was a tasteful selection although not my style.
