My bet for 2023

I cant really go back on my word… can I?

There are a decent amount of people in FRC that I see making bets (famously last year was one of 6328’s members eating a shoe). When the 2022 season just about ended, I had said to my friends that if 3512 wins a regional or an impact award for the 2023 season, I would get my head shaved. Its my last year as a student in FRC and I might as well do something dumb before the next season ends. By now, all my friends on the team are making sure I don’t go back on my word, so looks like I’m stuck here.

2023 is looking to be a really fun season, its less that 2 weeks away and I know that if I don’t enjoy it thoroughly, I will regret it for the rest of my life. Might as well do something dumb but fun right?

I bet my team five dollars that the game piece would be traffic cones, a bet which I am sure I have lost.

hahaha, from 2007 to 2009 I told my team (for whom Mohawks were a thing) that if we went to championship I would get a mohawk.

Well, we won chairman’s in 2009, so this happened: (My sister and I)

Made a bet with my driver that if we win Einstein this year, I’ll let him drive my car where ever he wants to for a full day. I’m feeling pretty comfortable.

A former captain of our team bet that if we qualified for worlds this year they would eat the marshmallow that had been hanging from the ceiling in our room for 3 years.

Sadly at some point in the summer it got taken down so we gotta figure something new out…

Our superintendent of schools bet us that if we win worlds he will get “Regal Eagles” tattooed.

Over the last 6 years ive grown my hair out a fair bit, and had a running bet that if any team i was with got themselves to Einstein id shave it all.

2019 so far is the closest to having to shave.

If it’s a shooting game (I’m betting against it) I will dye my hair my team’s colors (Red, Yellow, & Blue)

Being inspired by the multiple posts about eating crocs, I too have pledged that should my team (9015) qualify for world’s through Rookie All-Star, or otherwise, that I will indeed consume a portion of shoe.

It’s not a bet per se but the Media/PR subteam has decided that under certain circumstances I’ll be required to wear a bright pink wig. As a mentor of rather senior status I can see the upside of this especially for our Week One regional in Duluth. That’s pretty close to the Arctic Circle and my natural insulation is thinner than this COTS version. There have to be parameters of course. These are under good natured negotiations as the season is about to start…
