My last post of the season, Thank You for everything!

I’ve done this every year, post my last post of the season the night before I go off to the Championship Event.

I would like to thank FIRST for another great year. There are a lot of major improvements I saw during 6 weeks and the regionals. You guys done an amazing job this year. I especially LOVE the game this year. It is fun to build a robot for, fun to watch, easy for spectators to understand, and fun to be scorekeeper at.

I would like to thank Chief Delphi for another great Forum year. VB3 came off really wonderful, and you guys did an amazing job keeping the heart of the FIRST community up and running. The discussions are much better this year thanks to the moderator’s effort to keep everything under control, and new features like the Unsung FIRST Hero came off really well. Congratulation, I think we survived yet another season.

I am leaving for Atlanta in 6 hours, reminds me the post I did last year before Houston. I remember I said my top 10 reason why I was going to Houston:

  1. For the free volunteer food .
  2. Watch the game and see who’s going to be the ultimate champion of this season.
  3. See how FIRST is going to put up the show at a new place.
  4. Work with the FIRST staff at one of the fields
  5. Ask people for advices about workshops for this coming year
  6. Listen to Dean’s speech.
  7. Take a good look at some of the coolest robots out there.
  8. Get baker back for last year’s bottle water incident
  9. Meet the fellow FIRST-a-holics.

and…

  1. Announce to whoever I will meet at Championship event that my new life long goal is to invent something or create something that will beat the 1. Segway, or 2. FIRST. Watch out Dean , You will be my competitor from now on.

I believe all of those still applies, ESPECAILLY the water incident with baker. But I think I am going to change 6. to

  1. Ask people for advices about Off season competition for this coming year

And 1. to

  1. Announce to whoever I will meet at Championship event that my new life long goal is to invent something or create something that will beat the 1. Segway, 2. FIRST, and 3. Mission to Mars. Watch out Dean and Dave, you will be my competitors from now on. (its going to be incredibly hard or impossible to beat mission to Mars, but hey, can’t blame a guy for trying.)

This is Ken Leung signing off. See you at Atlanta!!!

haha i remember that…that was hilarious!

Yeah, it was pretty funny to see KenL jump out of his chair and chase Baker almost all the way to the next field over from us.

Could someone explain the whole water bottle incident?

After your pilgrimage, I anticipate some delightful anecdotes.

Peace.

The thing that impresses me most isn’t that Ken makes this sort of post – but that he says it’s his last post for a year and has the conviction to stick to that.

It’s incredible.

M,
where are you getting this “last post for a year” thing? Just curious…I mean, for all I know, it could just be a typo

Hehe, kind of freaked me out there :stuck_out_tongue:

I took it to mean that it was the last post he was going to make this season and that he was going to go off doing other important Ken-things.

But, I can now see just as easily that it’s his last post of the season because he’ll be busy until the Championship event is over and won’t post while it takes place.

In either case, Ken still rocks.

You know, if you take the time to observe, you will find Jess is always right  . Now that the Championship Event is over, the 2004 season is officially over. We are now steping into off season. Time to get the discussions for team forum topics started!

I think Joe and I got Baker back for you last year. We poured water over him after he won the Woody Flower’s Award.
