Coach on team #34, The Rockets, from Bob Jones High / New Century High and DaimlerChrysler.
I’m already experiencing sleepless nights … I have this reoccuring nightmare where a “LowBot” screems across the playing field into and under the exposed end of the bridge hopelessly “wedging” itself into the “honeycombed” bridge support structure and we all stand there in disbelief as time ticks away …
I thing I’ll add an auger bit ( I know, I’ll have to make it from Small Parts stuff) to our 'bot to get a grip on this bridge wedge.

Do people really have this much time on their hands?

No, the sleepless nights are commonplace, and the nightmare…well, its a valid one, but that would depend more on the driver experience, instead of the bot.
Worry not & get some sleep, Ed. Youve still got 32 days to go.

I’m not sure I envision this secenario being to likely. But if there is one thing that I have learned over the course of 6 FIRST seasons…never ever underestimate teams and never rule anything out.
Good luck all.

Minds me of my idea that sometime in finals last year a robot would run the ramp at full speed to knock another robot off the bar and they both go air born… I didn’t see it ever happen so don’t worry too much.
