Do they exist?

what even is this thread?

Uh, a question, judging by the question mark in the title.

I think this is supposed to be poking fun at the amount of time mentors put into their teams.

…Maybe?

No, no. Is there are an 8-hour work period after Stop Build Day to work on the robot?

One of our mentors told us it was a thing last year.

Oh, I see.

Well then, there is a 6-hour allowance for district teams in the week before each two-day event, because district events are shorter than regionals.

See R20-G in the game manual.

Edit: and R21

Seeing that your team is part of a district, it is mostly not a myth. 8 hours is false, see R20-G and R21 for more details.

On another note, we can still work on the code after Stop Build Day, right?

Yes, per R20-D

If you’re wondering whether build actually stops on bag day, the answer is unequivocally ‘no’. It has never stopped on bag day. The “stop” part of stop build has been a myth for as long as I’ve been in FIRST. To remain competitive through the end of April, the drive teams still need practice, mechanisms still need refining, and spares still need to be made.

All of it is subject to the withholding allowance rules - which is why it is important to fully understand what goes into the 30-lbs, and what does not. It is why many teams advocate for building a 2nd robot.

I don’t want this to come across as rude, but I sincerely hope you have thoroughly read through the 2019 Manual in its entirety because the rules like this are all in there.

PLEASE for the love of robots read the full manual, even the boring non robot and non game parts. They have critical information.

In a district (you are in the New England DIstrict) same as us, you are allotted 6 hours of unbag time. Please read R20 and R21 thoroughly.

did you not read the rules i would go back and give
that a try

This is why our team used to always call it bag day, and until last year it seemed like everyone on CD did too. Now suddenly that term has kind of disappeared.
