nasa broadcast

does anyone have a link to the nasa broadcast for the kickoff?
thanks

at robotics.nasa.gov there is a link in the bottom of the page to the archived footage from 2002. I would imagine that the webcast will be linked to on that page, or a link will be made on the main page, but it for sure is at robotics.nasa.gov

You can watch it on NASA TV, which is online here.

or if you have satellite, such as Dish Network, it will be broadcasted on the NASA channel. I’m taping it.

The Nasa site has information on the webcast and co-ord’s for a C-band dish. The link to the webcast will be available

Here:

on the day of the kickoff.

My guess is direct TV wont work eh?

Any info would be appreciated, thanks

Direct TV gets NASA TV only if you get a special package with all kinds of spanish channels.

Personally our team found a local sports bar that has satellites. watching the FIRST kickoff with your team on a 52 inch isn’t too shabby

Yeah my parents have that dish, w/ the TV spain and stuff. Do you know the NASA channel by any chance? I’d greatly appreciate it.

It’s Channel 376 on DirecTV. It only works with an oval dish. The older 18" round dishes don’t pick it up.

I have been collecting NASA stream links for couple of years for our team website…

So there are couple of great Streams links over here

some are better then what nasa has on their website, like 300+ kbs for those of you with broadband…

Enjoy…

JPL is usually at 300KB
Most other sites at NASA at 80K

I’ll see what I can do to bump the sites all to 300.

Also I may customize the robotics.nasa.gov TV page for more choices.

Please note that broadcasting the Kickoff all depends on the Satellite TV truck getting to New Hampshire - last year the truck came from Georgia, and almost didn’t make it because of a Ice storm. This year the weather looks bad on the East Coast.

Also Last year we had broadband video conferencing out of the arena, and this year we don’t - just be prepared for disappointment. Working for NASA I hate advertising an event when there is a single obvious critical point of failure. No truck, no broadcast.

Out of curiosity, if the truck doesn’t get there, doesn’t that mean that all of the remote kickoffs are going to be completely and utterly useless (except for any workshops that are offered)? Is there a reason the satellite truck doesn’t attempt to get there ahead of time?

Matt

Well its now 10:30 in Nashua Nh about 20 miles south of manchester and the snow has started. We are expecting another 12 to 14 inches in the next day. It could be fun getting to the kickoff tomorow. Hope the nasa truck is already in manchester.

Tyler

So, just to gather the complete information…
If the truck does not make it to Manchester, then there will be no satellite broadcasting??? Including Remote kick-off’s, webcasts, NASA TV, and all other satellite broadcasting???

:ahh:

I’m going to guess that if they’re not already there, they’re close…after all, they need time to set everything up when they get there, and I don’t really think they want to be doing that on Saturday morning…

Ditto, I am too. Thank you parents for having Dish Network. Hopefully the power won’t go out this year like it did last year right before the game was unveiled. At least I saw it, cause I was not at home but watching the online broadcast of it at a friends house with a bunch of other people.

Who has a digital version of the kickoff they can send me through aim or some other p2p client?? Please contact through aim sn: monsieurcoffee or [email protected]

Reason: I live in Ithaca, NY where power went out LOL due to snow from last last night to this afternoon. We only got to see web broadcasts but we need a copy to show our team.
