Need some help with driving any tips?https://www.chiefdelphi.com/uploads/default/original/3X/6/d/6d7ae804dcec529ac84e48a99c228e87aeddd428.MOV
I don’t understand…
Robot cart
Wait, that’s illegal
We have a full field that’s like a mile walk so we built it to drive the robot there and back
I’m still not particularly sure what the point of this thread is.
The first driving tip I’d give would be to remove the battery.
The second would be to wear helmets.
And the third would be practice.
It’s still summer there doesn’t need to be a amazing point
Oh I’m not looking for an amazing point, but when there’s a new thread created there should be some point to it.
The point is to show how cool the robot cart is
You seem to be missing a pneumatic robot-height-adjuster / ejector seat. Also bumpers so you get less complaints when you “unintentionally” run into persons and/or property (or when the gremlins come out and suddenly it’s uncontrollable).
Also if you’re driving it outdoors perhaps a suspension is in order.
the exposed shin-height diamond plate sheet on the back is super concerning, especially when coupled with the powered wheels.
Not a huge fan of powered robot carts in general but I bet learning how to power it and set up the controls was a valuable experience. Just make sure it failsafes quickly if something goes wrong.
If you want to show off how cool it is, do you want to talk about specs? design? etc?
Hope you had fun making a summer project, well done.
To everyone getting on their case about it: looks like it is just a robot transport tool where they are the only ones around it (presuming it doesn’t travel to an event).
-Not for general public interaction
-Reasonably safe for the operator
It’s fine.
Thanks for the save and for those wondering the metal plate on the back is to stand on when the robot is on we haven’t added the bar to hold onto yet so for now it’s the foot rest
If you do ever drive it around other people you’ll want to hack one of those big buttons that plays a sound effect to say “Robot!”
