Can a versaplanetary work?
We will see but with the climber setup we have the short shaft isn’t long enough

If nothing else; with the versplanetary, the shaft should be tapped for 1/4-20. You can take another shaft and tap that 1/4-20, screw a 1" bolt into the VP shaft and cut off the head to make a double sided bolt, allowing you to screw the other shaft onto it. Put a nut on the bolt before you cut the head off so you can reform the threads.
Versa also has a female hex output adapter but its kinda sketchy and you have to space the gearbox away depending on the application
Ya we tryed it and we are worried with our spacing of the climbers that the shaft length will be a huge issue
Would recommend not using the VP female hex adapter, it is susceptible to shock loads and we broke one a few years ago.
Can you use a standard hex output versaplanetary turning gears, chain, or a MAX 90 Degree gearbox?
Another consideration is to use a long hex coupler (QTY 2 - Half Inch Hex Coupler) and link the versa hex output shaft with the shaft length you need. That’s far stronger than the female hex ouptut adapter, probably not as good as a MAX 90 degree.
I’d sell you a base kit if I had one to sell, we’ve had multiple teams asking about them.

The CIM Sport also has a Female Output Shaft option as well as longer standard output shafts if needed.
