Hey, my team got stuck without our scouting papers for the championship and we really need a good and easy scouting app to use, can someone help me with this please?
Just search the forums
Within the past month, at least five have been posted. I’m sure you’ll find something that works for you.
My team has been using FRC Krawler, however it works best when somebody shows you how to set it up.

I haven’t used it, but this one seems to be good.
If you don’t find an easy scouting app to use, you could create your own using AppSheet! Its very easy to create and all the information goes straight to a spreadsheet, you could put one together in a couple of hours.
It is very simple, but I’d hate doing it the day of competition. Maybe they can have someone send them their papers to reprint at a local print shop. There is a Fedex print shop inside the Convention Center: http://local.fedex.com/tx/houston/office-5000/?cmp=LOC-1001545-3-1-971-1110000-US-US-EN-GPLHOTELSERVICE
If they do want to do appsheet, they can borrow my app as a template. (1) open appsheet account. (2) visit our portfolio, in this post. (3) download appsheet onto phones (play or apple store). (4) for offline syncing, upgrade account (I think the $5/month public account would work). (5) edit app as needed and deploy. (6) separately in the google sheet I copied all the teams at my event (or division) into the team list (and cleared out all old data). (7) sync all this (over mobile or wifi) and get out at compet and take picture/notes.
For pit scouting, this was simple/sufficient but the match scouting section would have to re-customized. If you already have a spreadsheet, you can just copy the column headers into the google sheet – you can just copy over the current matches one. Then you’d want to rescan the table (reset it to the new columns) and then you’d want to go into column structure and give each column its data type (numeric, yes/no, enum, etc.) to make it nicer to use.
You could also just come up with a system on the fly. For Ontario District Champs we knew we wouldn’t likely be in a picking position so we didn’t bother setting up the scouting app we’d been using all season. Instead our scouts agreed on the key questions and statistics they wanted to capture and set up free-form scouting sheets on blank paper.
We’ve used Google forms recently, it’s really nice if you have any internet access. It automatically exports to an Excel sheet, so anything you want to analyze is write in a readable medium. Takes maybe 20 minutes to set up
Can vouch for FRC Krawler. It’s amazing to have the versatility of custom metrics and served us well this season.
We used 980’s ThunderScout this year. Would highly recommend.
