Need some quick help, ASME scholarship!

I wanted to apply for the ASME scholarship but my team does not have any ASME members so any help? ideas? or am I just plain out of luck?

Get on the web and find your local chapter or the closest one to you and call them and try to recruit a member.

For those seeking ASME members to nominate them for scholarships, here are two suggestions:

(1) ASME is organized into 13 regional areas around the world, each of which has local “sections” (chapters). To contact any of 5 regional offices and find regional leaders near you, visit:
http://www.asme.org/regions/regionmap.html#7
This lists not only the regional office (staff) who may be able to direct you to a local college or university, or other section, with an interest in your team, but also to the regional volunteer “vice president” who may be able (no promises!) to pass your message on.

(2) Of course, the best recommender for a student is someone who knows and has worked with the student on a team. Last year a number of team leaders, engineers and teachers alike, joined ASME for the privilege of nominating a good candidate for these scholarships. Any engineer - or teacher - connected with your team may become an ASME member. Membership ranges from $20 for college student to $77, $83 or $111 per year). Visit: http://www.asme.org/member/ for information and application forms, or call 1-800-THE-ASME, or e-mail [email protected] for information. Scholarship nominations will be accepted from anyone who is a member at the time of submission of the nomination (e.g. by march 1st).

Good luck!
