A top notch idea! We need something like this in the Southern California area!

Regrettably we will be cancelling Sunday’s NE FIRST FRC Team Swap and Sale Meet due to low response. If there’s any interest we may reschedule for a future date.

Shoot!

Great idea, though.

We definitely would’ve been interested if we’d heard about it earlier and had time to sort out all of our gear (which we need to do regardless).

Maybe in the spring with lots of advanced notice?

I was hoping that a few weeks’ notice would have been enough time… But perhaps we can choose another date in late spring, after CMPS but before school ends? Unfortunately the 2016-17 rookies will miss out if we hold it in the spring, as they will not have formed yet. I guess there’s never a good time!

An option could be to develop a forum for folks to post items for sale or trade.

I’m in a car forum and their are sections dedicated to Parts for Sale and Parts Needed.

We do have an online forum like that for CT FRC teams now, but this was an attempt to include all of the New England district FRC teams.

That already exists, but no one uses it.

NH has a Facebook group started by Jay O’Donnell of 1058/229 that functions partly as a parts trade/sale/donate service during the build and competition season.

I’d highly recommend the other states create similar groups too… it’s a valuable resource and is particularly helpful because its full of teams that are almost all within an hour or less of each other.

I was actually going to make a thread about this Nathan! Hopefully other regions can start doing this too to help with part trading and other help.

I was thinking of something for everyone, vs. by state, some folks could pay shipping if needed

I couldn’t find the CD swap. I thought it used to be a forum and couldn’t find it. When I didn’t see it I thought maybe it had been purged with an update.

I still don’t see where the link is from the portal or the forum listing.

The swap meet has been cancelled due to low interest.

It was. As part of the planned upgrade of the forum sofwtare, a number of less-used items quietly disappeared last year (UFH, CD-Swap, and FAHA being some of the more notable ones).

This sounds awesome, but I think it definitely needs to be advertised a bit more to get maximum response. Maybe try emailing as many NE teams (especially CT ones) as you can, and giving teams a month or two to organize what they need, want and are going to swap/sell as well. I hope this ends up still being a thing!
