New Fundraising Idea...

For College/University Supported teams.

Someone took in to account the cost of tuition and determined the cost per meal here to be $7. Occaisionaly the college has “Skip a Meal” Days, where board students sign up to skip a meal one day, and for each student that signs up the college donates $7 to a chosen group/organization. Sometimes they even get local delivery restaurants (Chinese and Pizza mainly) to have a special sale that day for the students.

We got the college to agree to consider this for ACE, in a few weeks. They just had one on Tuesday and they don’t this to often, but I hear it makes a lot of money when they do.

Maybe other teams could get schools to agree to something like this. With the sub-standard dorm food I hear about I’m sure there’s students elsewhere that would be willing to eat out for one meal.

In this strain, I know that in College Station, TX the local Taco Cabana has fundraisers for Texas A&M clubs. You ask them if your club can participate, and then they arrange things and tell you a date. You then get a certain percentage of that day’s sales, so you can get a decent amount of money if you convince enough friends and strangers to eat at Taco Cabana that day. It’s probably not a $1000 fundraiser, but it couldn’t hurt if there’s a restaurant in your area that does it.
