New game clue from Bill's Blog

The Game Design Committee met this weekend and I want to compliment Dave Lavery who found a way to really use his head while testing game elements.

Bill’s Blog

Speculate away!

I speculate that Mr. Lavery hit his head on a game object when they were messing around with them. Either that or he used it as a hat of some type.

I don’t think this is an actual clue. I mean I’m sure Mr. Lavery could get his hands on MILLIONS of items that can be potential game pieces and along with that, I’m sure there are countless MORE things he could do with each one of those items. So I don’t really consider that a clue though. :stuck_out_tongue:

But I am excited to see that they have the game pretty much figured out.

Top Hats…

Oh, why not.

WATER GAME!

Not really.

Lets see… If I took a water ballon and threw it at Mr. Lavery’s head… I suppose that would count?

Could be a soccer ball. Or a non-hint designed to confuse us. Since Dave was mentioned it has to be an evil scheme to confuse people.

“Its a jackal! Is it a jackal? Jackal! Its a jackal!” - first person to name where that’s from I owe a cookie.

Not a game hint…that’s just anxiety kicking in. Besides, go enjoy that thing called summer.

i don’t think they would use balls for three years in a row though…

I’m going to laugh if we get something like a trackball this year. Anyone care to explain how this clue could relate to that game piece?

I’m going to guess it something hanging that you can bump your head into when you walk by. That or a soccer ball like chris said

i’m gonna take a stab at that being from family guy

next years game involves HUMANOID robots

I shall see you in Atlanta good sir.

1992 - 1996 were all ball games

2000, 2001, 2002 were all ball games

The GDC is a strange animal (made up of strange animals) I wouldn’t make assumptions. A year ago nobody thought we would have a game played on a slippery plastic surface.

I’m pretty sure every game/game piece can have a relationship with the head- you can put it on your head, hit your head on it, hit it with your head, or some combination of these no matter what the field/game piece is. Not to ruin the fun…

I hope Dave’s head feels better…

Who said he got hurt? The only way to know if he was hurt is for you to have been there. Are you part of the GDC?

Would anyone know the difference? :stuck_out_tongue:

I can’t believe there’s game hint talk in the summer. :ahh:

I think the key word is tested with his head.

What can you test with your head? Maybe he “headed” a ball over a bar or something?

I don’t think he’d use his head to test the durability of something… would he?

Reminds me how I got my “Tetraman” nickname. I put a Tetra on my head, and the rest is history.

I’m guessing something similar happened.

And I think the most important part to take from this blog statement more then “using his head” is the part that says - we’re really striving for clarity and brevity, but it’s a lot harder than it looks. I sense that this game is going to have a lot of things to do and watch out for unlike Lunacy where there were only 3-5 rules that really changed things.
