I’ve seen new balls tend to be more incompressible and older/more heavily used ones are much more easily compressed, which can lead to inconsistency in a shooting mechanism, particularly a wheeled shooter. I am wondering what ways teams have solved this issue in the past for games like 2012 or in your prototypes this year.
Not necessarily for 2012, but a catapult would alleviate that problem. I am by no means recommending a catapult for this years game though. We were having inconsistency problems with our shooter too, and it was consistently only with certain balls. We are just leaving everything as is and hoping for the best lol
not from my experience, even with a catapult in 2016, we saw significant difference in new and used balls.
