New to FRC looking for some Guides

Hi I’m completely new to FRC and this year I’m taking on the role as programmer but probably a bit of everything

I was wondering if there is some kind of ‘full’ guide on FRC.
I have some C++ experience so I’m ok on that but on the rest, engineering, building etc. (also some of the more advanced coding)

is there some sort of outline you can go by or anything??

Thanks, and fell free to refer me to other similar posts etc

Well, tbh one of the best guides is this website. Just about anything you could ever want or need to know can be sourced from here with a simple search or creation of a post.

now particularly things or post to point you to I’m not too sure because idk what you need particularly need but all you need to do is ask.

Great! I guess I’ll get started on the basics and I’ll see what happens as I go on!

There is no guide this competition is completely up to you. The most important part is the manual, no slack is given if you build your base 29 by 33 you will have to destroy your frame to make it smaller. Dont be afraid to ask for help either. Especially from your closest team.

In terms of programming/control system resources, ScreenStepsLive isn’t a bad place to start.

As for a good resource to start with, ScreenStepsLive contains information on the FRC control system and getting started with programming.

If you’re looking for resources in a somewhat more condensed format than this website, the FRC Survival Guide may have what you’re looking for. It is a compilation of resources for all things FRC, created by two FIRST alumni.

If you haven’t found it already, the WPILib screensteps documentation is the official source for programming and control system information and contains almost everything you need to know to make your robot work.
