My name is Krishan, here to introduce the creation of the New Jersey Institute of Technology’s (NJIT) Ri3D Team! The NJIT Ri3D team is a project under the NJIT Robotics Club. Currently, our team is made up of 10+ FRC Alumni from the teams below:
41 - RoboWarriors
303 - The TEST Team
1257 - Parallel Universe
2016 - Mighty Monkey Wrenches
2554 - The Warhawks
6016 - Tiger Robotics
8588 - Tech Devils
2872 - CyberCats
–
With this team, we have over 47+ Years of FRC experience, and we hope that we can showcase this in January! Our team is fully student-run, and we all have an ambition to attempt the unique challenge Ri3D provides.
NJIT’s Makerspace is one of the most expansive yet approachable prototyping spaces in the nation and provides unique production resources to a rapidly growing maker community. The equipment available at NJIT is on par with the most competitive FRC teams (Waterjet, Haas CNC, etc), and would allow our Ri3D Team to demonstrate the abilities of seasoned FRC alumni from a semi-professional position.
We are still in our primary stages, and any feedback about sponsorships would be great!
Some Main Points:
We are focusing on picking & placing the Corals mainly, as we believe we would have better cycle times rather than having to shoot it into the barge – nontheless we will be adding a system to push the balls into the processor from the ground.
We are thinking of doing a Virtual Reverse Double 4 Bar lift, with some sort of arm on the end (Currently prototyping, will be shown in Recap #2!)
Hello CD!
We will post Day 1 Recap 2 & Day 2 Recap 3 sometime later this night,
We will not have a 9PM Recap/Q&A tonight, as we’ve continued to make the same updates as said in Recap 3 (Electrical Board, Milling parts, cutting box tube, etc…)
Our next update will be tomorrow at 3PM with a robot that is made!
